Crystal Lake Hiking Trail ↔ Lassen National Park ↔ Autumn Hiking Series

Welcome to another installment in the Sunrise Hiking series! Today, we're hiking all the way up to beautiful Crystal Lake in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

I'm not gonna lie, this trail was a beast! It's all uphill, all the way!

This thing was so steep that if it wasn't for hubby encouraging me to keep going, I probably would have turned back!

But, you know what they say about the views being worth the climb!

This is an overhead view of Juniper Lake! (You can read the full post from our hike to Juniper Lake and Horseshoe Lake here.)

And just wait, the views get even better if you can believe it!

We were up so high that we ended up above the trees!

And arriving at Crystal Lake comes with a big payoff. This lake is absolutely stunning and I don't know if photos can even do it justice.

P.S. I'm still loving my new insulated backpack cooler!

We did a little exploring (hey, that's what this journey is all about, right?) and found a way up to look out over the lake. Look at all those stunning shades of blue!

This was truly the first hike where I've felt on top of the world. Wonder how (someday) hiking Lassen Peak is gonna feel!

The amazing view of Juniper Lake was breathtaking, along with the surrounding mountains...

This hike is easy to rate, even with our overly complicated rating system. No question, it gets 5 "I'm your huckleberry"'s out of 5. πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡

Hubby is sticking with the Tombstone theme and going with 5 "Isn't that a daisy?"'s out of 5. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

Here's the highlight video from the three lakes we hiked to on this trip, Crystal Lake, Juniper Lake and Horseshoe Lake:
